All trumpet majors perform in The UL Lafayette TRUMPET ENSEMBLE under the
direction of Dr. Paul Morton. The ensemble performs a wide variety of
classical and jazz music in many different settings. The group provides an
exciting chamber music experience and an opportunity to strengthen musical
and personal bonds within the trumpet studio. Past performances have
included the 1991 and 1993 International Trumpet Guild conferences in Baton
Rouge, LA and Akron, Ohio. The UL Trumpet Ensemble has had numerous works
written for them. The ensemble premiered Velocité for five trumpets by Dr.
James Guthrie at the 1999 regional College Music Society Convention in Baton
Rouge.
