MARGARET DANIEL
Margaret Daniel, soprano, is Associate professor of Voice and Coordinator of Vocal Studies in the School of Music at the University of Louisiana – Lafayette. She earned her baccalaureate degree from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire and the Master of Music from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, with additional graduate study at Boston University.
Her singing career has included the performance of numerous leading soprano roles in opera, oratorio, and musical theatre as well as recitals of solo and chamber repertoire. She has performed throughout the United States and Europe. In addition to her studio teaching her responsibilities include courses in song diction, song literature, opera literature, and voice pedagogy.
A member of the university graduate faculty, her peer-reviewed articles on voice pedagogy and vocal repertoire have been published in leading professional journals with national and international distribution. She appears frequently as a clinician, adjudicator, and performer and has presented invited lecture recitals and master classes for the College Music Society, Louisiana Music Educators Association, Louisiana Music Teachers Association and the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS).
Her students consistently rank among the winners and finalists at state and regional competitions and as ULL graduates are successful performers and music educators throughout the nation. Many have completed advanced degrees at prestigious universities.
Additionally, Mrs. Daniel is a collaborative pianist and organist. She is listed in the International Who’s Who in Music and Musicians: Marquis Who’s Who in America; The World Who’s Who of Women; and Outstanding Musicians of the 20th Century. The American Biographical Institute awarded her the distinction of Woman of the Year. |
