UL Lafayette Symphony Orchestra: Prokofiev Symphony no. 5
The UL Lafayette Symphony Orchestra will present a concert featuring Prokofiev's Symphony No. 5 plus UL Student Soloists. UL violin student Tyrone Wilkins will be featured for the Bruch Violin Concerto and UL flute student Hayden Landry featured for Mozart's Flute Concerto in G Major. The Symphony No. 5 is regarded as one of Prokofiev's finest musical compositions. It is also considered one of the most challenging symphonic works ever composed.
This free performance will take place on Tuesday, April 11, 7:30 PM, Angelle Hall Auditorium. For more information please call the UL School of Music at (337) 482-6012. This performance is being dedicated to the memory of Bruce Turner.
The School of Music is located at the southeast corner of the McKinley St. and E. St. Mary Blvd intersection. Parking for evening and weekend events is available in the lot on the northwest corner of this intersection. The entrance to the parking lot is on Girard Park Cir.
