"Dads & Jazz"
UL Jazz Ensemble & BURRIS:  A pre-festival double-bill!
     Wednesday, April 26               Warehouse 535
(in downtown Lafayette, 535 Garfield St.)
Crawfish & beverages for sale.  Show starts at 7 p.m.

"Dads & Jazz"  is a kick-off event for Festival Internationale.   Listeners will be able to buy crawfish, as well as other food & beverages, while they enjoy two sets of jazz at tables or on the porch.  Get up and dance if you feel the urge--come pass a good time on the eve of Festival.  There will be no cover required at the door; however, donations are welcome and appreciated.

The UL Jazz Ensemble is an 18-piece big band that plays swing, funk, blues, Latin, big band favorites, and contemporary jazz. Recently, the band has performed with multiple Grammy award-winning artists, including Diane Schuur, New York Voices, Gordon Goodwin, and Paquito D'Rivera.  The ULJE does a variety of gigs each semester, and in addition to campus concerts, are frequently featured around town.   They appear regularly at the Acadiana Center for the Arts in a cabaret setting (much like a night-club), and we provide the entertainment for the Dean’s annual Beaux Arts Ball produced by the College of the Arts. Lafayette’s Downtown Alive and Festival International de Louisiane have also been exciting outdoor venues.
BURRIS is a 7-piece horn band that plays an eclectic indie mix of fusion music.  Based out of NOLA, members also hale from Lafayette, Baton Rouge, Philly, and Moscow, Russia.    Join us downtown for a night of great music on the eve of Festival Internationale.
