Theatre Program Holds Auditions for Arcadia by Tom Stoppard

On August 31st, the Theatre program will hold auditions for the Fall 2017 mainstage production, Arcadia by Tom Stoppard. Performers who wish to audition should prepare a 60-90 second monologue featuring formal language but not verse.  Monologues by playwrights like George Bernard Shaw, Anton Chekhov, Oscar Wilde, Oliver Goldsmith, or other plays by Tom Stoppard (beside Arcadia) will be preferred.  Please do not use Shakespeare pieces for this audition. Auditioners should complete the online audition form, and email a current acting resume and headshot to birk@louisiana.edu. Once an audition form is received, you will be contacted with your audition time slot.  Auditions will begin at 6pm and continue until all registered auditioners have been seen.

Rehearsals will begin September 6th and will run Monday through Friday nights.  Performances will be October 19-21 at 7:30pm and October 21st and 22nd  at 2:00pm. Tech rehearsals are October 15-18 5:00pm-9:00pm. Availability for all technical rehearsals and performances is mandatory for casting. Rehearsals will be held during the day over Fall break October 5th and 6th.

Arcadia has roles for 7-8 men and 4-5 women.  Theatre majors are required to audition, but all students and community members are welcome.

Please contact Sara Birk if you have questions.
