Lucas Munce (clarinet) is a native of Manhattan, KS and a graduate of Kansas State University. As a prior member of the United States Air Force, he has given nearly a decade to military service as lead alto saxophonist in both the Academy Concert Band Falconaires and the prestigious Airmen of Note in Washington D.C. Mr. Munce has toured extensively in the United States and Europe, both performing and conducting master classes and woodwind clinics. In 2011, Mr. Munce received the DownBeat Magazine Award for Graduate College Outstanding Performances by a Jazz Soloist. Lucas has studied clarinet with Ed Cabarga of the National Symphony and Dan Silver at the University of Colorado. He holds a Masters Degree in Clarinet Performance and a Masters Degree in Jazz Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Colorado at Boulder (2012) and is currently a doctoral student at CU in Woodwind Performance and Pedagogy.
