The Opera Theater is the premiere performance group for operatic and musical theater activities  at UL Lafayette. The program stresses performance at a high level with focus on vocal and repertoire coaching and movement and acting for the
singing actor.  

The Opera Theater produces 2 mainstage productions each year, one of an operatic nature and the other in the musical theater genre.The purpose is to give the student a chance to put into practice what he/she learns in the voice studio and take it to the next level dramatically. In the past few years the Opera Theater has collaborated with both the UL Lafayette Symphony Orchestra and the Acadiana Symphony. The performances are fully staged and costumed.  The Opera Theater also has a mission to bring these types of performances to the educational system in this parish and around the Greater Acadiana area.
