Jazz Week - Fall '08
Monday, Nov. 10 - guest artist Ron Rudken, saxophone/clarinet
- UL Jazz Ensemble - Big Band, Dr. Bill Hochkeppel, director. A variety of new and updated classics from the libraries of Woody Herman, Stan Kenton, and Maynard Ferguson.
- Combo 2 - Dr. Paul Morton, director, playing standards such as “Caravan”, “Black Orpheus”, and “Airegin.”
Tuesday, Nov. 11
- Combo 1 - Dr. Bob Luckey, director. Their program will feature numbers written by noted trumpet players, including Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, Clifford Brown, and Lee Morgan.
- Jazz Guitar Quintet - Dr. Jeff George, director. They will play arrangements of bebop pianist Thelonius Monk, including the rarely performed tune “We-See.”
- Combo 3 - Dr. Robert Willey, director.
Wednesday, Nov. 12 - Faculty Jazz Combo
