Rodolfo Espinoza
Rodolfo Espinoza is a native of Iquique, Chile. He received his Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music Performance from the University of Louisiana Lafayette. For the past 23 years, Mr. Espinoza has taught music and social studies at Lafayette High School. He is currently the director of the Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Combo as well as department head for Social Studies. Since 2010, Mr. Espinoza has been the director and president of the Skyliners of Acadiana Big Band. Mr. Espinoza performs saxophone and bassoon throughout Acadiana, and maintains a private studio.
Mr. Espinoza was selected as the 2006–2007 LHS, Lafayette Parish and Louisiana Regional Teacher of the Year. He was selected as the Louisiana Association of Educators Teacher of the Year in 2011 and in 2012 received the National Education Award for Teaching Excellence and was named a Pearson Global Learning Fellow.
Mr. Espinoza has served as President of the Lafayette Parish Association of Educators and received the Safeguarding Democracy Award by the League of Women Voters. Mr. Espinoza is a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, the Louisiana Association of Educators and National Education Association.
