Audition Registration
Audition for the Dance Program at UL-Lafayette is through participation in the "Dance Open House". Here, prospective students will participate in both Classical Ballet and Contemporary Technique class. Additionally, students will meet with faculty and current dance majors as you gain insight into the Dance Major. Registration for the "Dance Open House" can be found here:

Audition Attire
Please be prepared to wear appropriate attire for your audition.
For the ballet audition, please wear a leotard (or form-fitting top) and tights with feet, and ballet slippers, (or pointe shoes if you have 3 + years pointe training.)
For the modern dance audition, please wear form-fitting appropriate dance wear and bare feet.
Dance Open House Schedule
- 8-8:30 Applicant check in Room 109, McLaurin Hall. Once you have checked in, you will be escorted to the changing room and the studio where auditions will be held
- 8:30-9 Studio space available for your individual warm-up
- 9-10:45 Contemporary Technique class
- 10:45-11 Break
- 11-12 Ballet portion of audition
- 12-12:30 Meet with Current Students
- 12:30-1:30 Q & A with Dance Faculty
Additional Important Information
Observers are not permitted in the dance studio during the actual audition class.
If you wish to join the Dance program but are unable to attend Dance Open House, private auditions can be scheduled based on availability. Please direct audition questions to michael.crotty@louisiana.edu
