Wind Ensemble/Symphonic Winds Concert

The UL-Lafayette Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Winds will present a free concert entitled “SONG AND DANCE” on Wednesday, February 27 at 7:30 p.m. in Angelle Auditorium

Dr. Jason Missal will lead the Symphonic Winds in The Solitary Dancer (Benson), Danzon (Marquez), a Shostakovich Waltz , and The Danserye (Susato).

The University Wind Ensemble, conducted by Dr. William Hochkeppel, will then perform La Fiesta Mexicana (a Mexican Folk Song Symphony by H. Owen Reed) and Suite Louisiane by James Syler. Five folk songs from different regions of Louisiana make up the new suite which UL helped commission. Ginastera’s Impetuosamente rounds out the program which is free and open to the public.
