Dr. Paul Jannise was born and raised in Louisiana.  He graduated from the Louisiana Scholars' College at NSU with Highest Distinction earning a BA in the Humanities and a second BA in Theatre.  He has performed as a professional actor at the Kentucky Shakespeare Festival in Louisville, New Stage Theatre in Jackson, MS, the American Shakespeare Center in Virginia, and Chicago's City Lit Theater.  After spending several years as working actor, he attended the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in Birmingham, UK and received an MFA in Acting - The British Tradition, graduating with distinction.  He was recently awarded his PhD in Drama and Performance through the University of Huddersfield in West Yorkshire, England.  His areas of interest include Shakespeare, especially Original Practices; Stanislavski, Michael Chekhov, psychophysical performance, and performance-as-research.
