Opera Theater
The Opera Theater is the premiere performance group for operatic and musical theater activities at UL Lafayette. We concentrate on performance at a high level with focus on vocal and repertoire coaching, plus movement and acting.
The Opera Theater produces two mainstage productions each year: one of an operatic nature and a musical theatre production. That gives you a chance to put into practice what you learn in the voice studio and take it to the next level dramatically.
In the past few years the Opera Theater has collaborated with both the UL Lafayette Symphony Orchestra and the Acadiana Symphony. The performances are fully staged and costumed. The Opera Theater also has a mission to bring these types of performances to the educational system in this parish and around the Greater Acadiana area.
Scholarships are available to participate in these productions. Scholarships are awarded after auditions.
