Auditions & Requirements
FALL 2020 Audition Information
Membership is by audition and is open to all UL students, regardless of major. Stipends and housing waivers may be available for qualified students, and you earn course credit for participation.
Auditions for Wind Ensemble take place in August. Sign-up sheets are posted on the band room bulletin board two weeks before band camp, three weeks before school starts.
If you are also a member of the Pride of Acadiana, you can audition the week before band camp or during band camp. Members also interested in Jazz Ensemble should visit our Jazz Ensemble audition requirements.
Some notes about the auditions:
- Late auditions are for special cases only.
- All members of the Wind Ensemble must re-audition each year.
- Membership in the Wind Ensemble extends through the entire year, except for December graduates and student-teachers.
- E-mail Dr. Hochkeppel to schedule a special appointment audition if you cannot make the posted times available.
