Theatre Program Earns National Accreditation

This Spring, the Theatre program of the School of Music and Performing Arts earned accreditation from the National Association of Schools of Theatre (NAST). 

In order to be accredited, the Theatre program had to meet national standards in curriculum, performance and design opportunities, faculty, facilities, and many other areas directly related to the training and preparation of future professional theatre artists.

With this accreditation, the UL Lafayette Theatre program becomes one of fewer than 200 theatre programs in the nation and one of only five collegiate theatre programs in the state of Louisiana to have successfully met the exacting standards of NAST, demonstrating that the UL Theatre program provides a high-quality foundation for a successful post-graduate career in the arts paired with an intimate, personalized training experience.
