Marching Band
Be a part of UL Lafayette's marching band, the Pride of Acadiana!
The Pride of Acadiana performs at all home games, adding music and pageantry to the excitement of Ragin' Cajun football. It also performs during select away games, high school contest exhibitions, and special events, such as the Louisiana governor's inauguration and New Orleans Saints Football Games. The Pride of Acadiana has performed in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade twice and has traveled to Scotland, England, and Spain for performances and parades.
In addition, the Pride of Acadiana's Ragin' Cajun Drum Line is a two-time winner of the Percussive Arts Society International Convention College Drum Line Competition. Members of the RCDL have consistently been a part of virtually every DCI member corps both as marching members and staff.
All members of the Pride of Acadiana are eligible for scholarships or housing stipends, which help you cover the cost of school while you contribute to the spirit and pride of the University.
Membership is open to all majors by audition. We have openings on the drum line, for brass and woodwind instruments, for color guard, and for feature twirlers. You earn course credit as a member of the marching band, and you're required to attend band camp, rehearsals, and sectionals. Learn more about the auditions and requirements.
If you've been in the Pride of Acadiana for more than one year, you can qualify for yearly return bonuses, and do not need to audition each year unless you are a music major or participate in multiple ensembles.
We invite you to become part of one of the most dynamic and visible organizations at UL Lafayette!
