The UL Lafayette Jazz Studies degree is an exciting program that prepares students for the professional performing world of jazz, rock and all pop styles. The curriculum focuses on mastering the jazz language of improvisation, music theory, music arranging, studio recording, and "real world" performing experience. Our graduates have performed with such diverse musicians as Trombone Shorty, Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys, Lil’ Nathan and the Zydeco Big Timers, Givers, and the Glen Miller Orchestra.

This is a branch of the performance concentration in which you can specializes in the jazz idiom of performance. This concentration is open to instrumentalist on any band instrument, piano, or guitar.
